We played a slew of very different games today, and here are some quick takes!
> New York Slice - Revisiting this set collection game intensely focused on the I-split-you-choose mechanism. Fine filler material that does what it does very well.
> Azul Summer Pavilion - In my opinion...the ~best~ derivation of Azul. Equal parts punishing, challenging, and rewarding.
> Nusfjord - Still offers satisfying, discrete decisions of the mid-weight-euro kind at a brisk pacing no matter the player count.
> Meltwater - So, so very brutal. Suffocating and tense head-to-head skirmish-survival game that had us strained till the end. It reminded us of the first time we played Twilight Struggle, i.e. a constant sense of impending doom. Not a bad thing 😉.
...and with Meltwater, our shelf of shame is no more! 🎉🍻 Naturally, we must buy more games, right? 😅
