Looks nice, doesn’t it? Too bad it’s wrong. These are laminated architectural shingles, which are thicker than regular three-tab, so they don’t bend as well. This valley is woven, rather than cut (see second picture). This type of valley with these shingles could lead to water penetration, as the shingles cannot bend enough to conform to the angle of the valley. A roofer will need to evaluate this installation and determine if it can be repaired, or if this section needs to be replaced.
