One of the highlights of our honeymoon at Disney was being able to experience Star Wars a Galaxy's Edge for the first time. My aunt Lora was one of the imagineers who helped bring all of this to life. We decided to go to savi's Workshop to build lightsabers.
Hollywood Studios closes at 9 p.m. and our reservations were at 9:05 p.m. so the park was pretty much closed by the time we left. Well when you walk into check in to make your lightsaber there are four different types that you can create: Peace and Justice, Power and Control, Elemental Nature and Protection and Defense.
Billy chose Elemental nature, while I chose protection and defense. When you go to check in they give you a PIN to wear on your shirt to let them know which you will be creating. You walk into this room and there are three people standing there, one of them is Savi and the other two his assistants.
Savi goes into detail about the Jedi and the Sith, and talks about the New Hope for the Galaxy the new Jedi Rey. It's incredible how everything falls away and you are in that moment on this distant planet talking to a gentleman who knows everything about the force. Disney Hollywood Studios just disappears from around you. They talk about kyber crystals and at one point they tell you to close your eyes and picture a light. I opened my eyes and in front of me they were holding a tray with red, and blue, and green, and purple kyber crystals. So I chose green, and he said that this was the color of Master Yoda's lightsaber, and Qui-Gon jinns lightsaber. Billy chose purple, a color known to be the same as Mace Windu's lightsaber.
Then we got to assemble our lightsabers. Once we were finished with that they put them into this chamber to help them activate, then they told us to put our hands on the hilt and activate. All at once all eight of us in the room activated are lightsabers and lifted them out of the chambers together, I was the only person in the room who chose green. But the other colors the blues and the purples. It gave me chills
