New journal cover. Setting out a new chapter in my life where it’s all about the internal battles.
Journaling started as a means for me to get out of my head back in 2015. Life was great on the surface, I had a respectable job, friends, and family who cared about me, but I was depressed and didn’t see the point of carrying on with life. Whatever feel-good quotes I used to throw around before and during that time all was just not working.
And so I started jotting down my thoughts religiously almost every day. Whether it was a gratitude list or an idea I have for a project or a list of what I think I should improve on myself, I started jotting them down for months and months.
This was of course done with many other things to deal with whatever issues I had, but I find the act of writing down your thoughts does help with whatever demons you have lurking inside.
I don’t think I would be here today if it wasn’t for this one simple act that I do my best to stay as consistent as possible with.
When you look at your life on an actual piece of paper, it gives you this sense of ownership in how your life has turned out. Like in a literal way that you are the author of your own life and you can make it the way you want it to be.
I would recommend anyone who’s feeling lost or is in need to figure things out with their lives to give journaling a try. There are loads of free stuff online for you to choose different journaling exercises to get started.
Keep in mind that a journal is for your personal reference so, there’s no right or wrong way of doing it, as long as you’re expressing yourself and recording it somewhere.
Hope you guys are having a good week and enjoy the rest of it! :) And remember that: "Your focus determines your reality" - Qui-Gon Jinn-
