A   #transformation   trigger story 👇🏼. . Have you ever been in an   #embarrassing   situation - where you couldn't zip up your pants?? . . A few years ago, I was at a party wearing a pair of new white pants with a skinny side zipper. I chose a smaller size as it squeezed me up and made me look leaner. The nasty zipper has a very tiny grip and was almost invisible. during the party I ate, drank and enjoyed while my pants started feeling really snug. I ignored the discomfort and continued to enjoy myself... . . I went to the washroom to loosen them up a bit .. i couldn't zip them back up. I struggled with the zipper but was afraid it might break ... I dropped the pants & decided to manually stretch the fabric around the hips/waist ... but the fabric wasn't cotton not stretchy. I put them back on - but still couldn't get get it up - there wasn't enough fabric to pull the 2 ends of the zipper together & zip it up. It was located in such an awkward place, my shoulders started to hurt with all that bending. I struggled, sucked my belly in, panicked and then decided to call a friend who was outside at the party.. . . I called out to her as she entered the washroom & let her in my cubicle -- the shame on my face felt unreal. I was so angry with myself. I requested her to help me pull the fabric around my waist and help me zip it up. We struggled for about 5 minutes until it was finally up. And once it was done - I apologized profusely to her even before thanking her. Turns out I was apologizing to myself for letting things get so out of hand. I went back outside - but i couldn't smile anymore. A waitress was offering appetizers - and I ate the shame away. . . Moments like this stay forever - because this is what actually triggers the process of change in your mind. I recall this on days when I take my fitness for granted, because I'm never too far from being in the same situation again. Goodbye   #Period     #Cramps  .⁠ .⁠ My monthly period used to cripple me; a definite day off from work/school - laying in bed & battling extreme emotional thoughts while eating anything I could get my hands on. The pain was unbearable & oftentimes I would pop 2-3 painkillers a day. I felt like I had lost 7 days in a month of mental clarity, body-positivity & not made any kind of progress. ⁠ .⁠ .⁠ When I had just started my   #fitness   journey, I used to skip workouts on my period day - worry, feel sad about my bloating & sudden confusing weight gain; but then one day I read an article about how working out (light jog, cross-trainer, floor exercises or light resistance training) on the days leading up to & first/second day of your period helps relieve cramps !! And it worked like a charm! I was also determined to kill my painkiller addiction & chose to "live with" the pain instead. I kid you not, regular   #workouts   + nutritious whole foods 🥜🥦🥕 literally halved my cramps in a matter of months. ⁠ .⁠ .⁠ 7 days of hell became 2-3 days and now I can't even tell ! I train hard on days I feel like and if that's the 1st day of my period - so be it !!   #girlswholift   - this time I hit a Deadlift PR of 115 on the first day !!! And I don't get emotional mood swings or sudden bursts of sadness anymore - almost like my body has learnt to handle it or has built enough muscle to absorb it all. ⁠ .⁠ .⁠ They won't disappear overnight or even in 6 months - it takes a lifestyle change. Sleep quality, consistency in clean nutrition, regular workouts & commitment to building a positive mindset - thats what it takes to make magic happen !! ⁠ .⁠ Girls - do you really need any more   #motivation   that this ? The   #lagree   uses the Megaformer, designed for a high‐intensity, low‐impact workout resulting in total body conditioning. Every move performed works multiple muscle groups often up to 600 muscles in one move. The result is long, lean muscles, increased strength, and maximum calories burned. It totally kicked my butt! . . 🌟The 💻Work-Workout Life Balance 🌟⁠ .⁠ .⁠ Once you begin your 9-5 desk-job career you will almost never find the time to build new hobbies. With 5 strong weekdays spent at work its almost impossible to not relax on the weekends.. so how do you get fitter while sitting for 8 hours at a desk ?? Let me show you - ⁠ .⁠ .⁠ 🌟Extend your work to the gym - Hit the gym directly after work, be it 5 PM or 9 PM .. finish off with a shower and hit the bed. Wake up early the next morning & do whatever you had planned for the previous evening.⁠ .⁠ 🌟 Eat   #food   that helps you keep your energy levels up so you don't feel low on energy at the   #gym  ⁠ - this means protein with every meal, water, veggies, fruits. Eating fried, sweet & processed foods will make you lethargic & heavy.⁠ .⁠ 🌟 Carry your gym bag to work 💻 - 50% of the times I have made it to my evening gym session only coz i had my clothes & shoes with me. Convenience is your motivator. ⁠ .⁠ 🌟 Find a gym close to work or en-route to home. a simple yet effective   #hack   - you cannot complain if its convenient. ⁠ .⁠ 🌟⁠ Plan to hit 4 days of gym in the beginning with 1 day of   #home   workouts. The gym is the most motivating place to start your   #fitness   journey if you seek out positives - watch people work hard on themselves, observe their focus, feel the energy of the music & start working on yourself. ⁠ .⁠ .⁠ I started my 100 week fitness journey when I started my   #Software   Engineering   #career   in Jan 2017 & it was very hard in the beginning. Long stressful work days demotivated me to work on my body; i felt i was learning ALL the time - at work & gym; it was uncomfortable & tiring esp on Thursday-Friday. But within 1-2 months, I got used to being sore at work & thinking about work at gym. Exercise helped me let go of   #stress   ... I enjoy the warm post-workout showers & eating my last meal on my soft bed.
